In 2004, the Foundation placed child-focused adoption recruiters in seven cities to find families for victims of child abuse and neglect waiting in foster care to be adopted. Today, the Foundation's Wendy's Wonderful Kids program has 122 recruiters working in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. To date, the program has served 4,882 of our nation's most vulnerable children. Half are 12 or older, 40% have at least one disability and half have had to move four or more times in foster care. Most have been in foster care more than four years, and many more than ten years. Two out of ten had failed adoptions prior to being served by the program.
