Evans Automotive and PrimaryAim LLC host the sixth annual Italian Gathering
August 11, 2011
On Sunday, September 4, Italian motor vehicles and motorbikes of all vintages will converge onto The Wendy’s Company corporate grounds at One Dave Thomas Blvd., in Dublin, Ohio. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. visitors will see automobiles such as Alfa Romeo, De Tomaso, Ferrari, Fiat, Lancia, Lamborghini, Maserati, Pantera and others on display, as well as many two-wheeled varieties.
The featured car model for 2011 is the Ferrari 308/328/Mondial. Due to many requests, a non-Italian car show for specialty cars will be held in the parking lot next to the Italian car show.
Patrons will see a twin turbo charged 1990 Ferrari F40 that has a top speed of 201 mph. The F40 was the first road legal production car to break 200 mph, its body is made of light but very strong carbon fiber and Kevlar. They typically sell for more than $500,000.
Two Lamborghini Diablo SE 30s will also be displayed. With a very low production number of 152 (only 25 met U.S. specifications). One of these cars is even more rare because it’s one of nine produced in metallic purple. This particular Diablo was purchased new by artist Christian Lassen. Lassen took his brand new anniversary Diablo and emblazoned it with a family of dolphins on each side and on the nose bonnet. This car is known world-wide to Lamborghini enthusiasts as “The Dolphin Diablo.”
A 1987 Lamborghini LM002 (with a low production of 300) is a four-wheel-drive Countach V-12 powered all-terrain vehicle, and affectionately referred to as the “Rambo Lambo.” It holds 76 gallons of fuel and has a top speed of over 120 mph.
Admission for spectators is free. Parking is $8 per car. Advanced vehicle registration fee (before August 20) is $25 per car and $35 the day of the show. Motorcycle or scooter registration is $15 and $25 the day of the show. Proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and its signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids.
