A sweet treat for a good cause
Dublin, OH – It’s no trick how Wendy’s and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption have pulled together to help children waiting in foster care find forever families.
Through a promotion at Wendy’s, customers can purchase special coupon books to hand out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. The books include coupons for free Wendy’s Jr. Frostys – welcomed treats for any Halloween ghoul. All of the proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in support of its signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids.
In 2010, the Wendy’s Halloween program raised more than $2 million for foster care adoption throughout the United States and Canada. Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas, who was adopted as a child, was an advocate for children in foster care and was committed to raising awareness of the more than 137,000 children who are waiting for permanent homes and loving families in North America. He also founded the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a non-profit public charity dedicated to increasing adoptions of children in North America’s foster care system. Wendy’s Wonderful Kids is a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption that focuses exclusively on the longest-waiting children in foster care.
