Through our national awareness campaigns and innovative programs, the Foundation is dedicated to achieving the vision that every child will have a permanent home and a loving family.
A rigorous, five-year national evaluation revealed that children referred to our Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program are up to 3x more likely to be adopted from foster care.

A Team Worth Rooting For: Niyah and Elias’ Story
In 2017, siblings Niyah and Elias were adopted by Kameca and Jamar through the Foundation’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program after spending their entire lives in foster care. Three years after their adoption, the family of four have grown as a team.
“I didn’t understand what love really was until I met my children,” shared Kameca.
The Foundation reconnected with the family, who now lives in Texas, to see how they were doing.

Adoption-Friendly Workplace Program Featured on The Now
More than 25 years ago, our founder, Dave Thomas, led an initiative advocating for better adoption benefits in the workplace, because to him, it was just “the right thing to do.” The Foundation has carried that legacy forward through the Adoption-Friendly Workplace program and the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace survey.
