COVID-216 Podcast with Joe Donatelli

Posted on May 6, 2020

The COVID-216 podcast is a production of WEWS News 5 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rita Soronen, President & CEO of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, joined host Joe Donatelli on the COVID-216 podcast to discuss how the Foundation is working to find adoptive homes for children in foster care who are living through the coronavirus pandemic without the stability and security of a forever family.

Rita explained that while adoption professionals in the Foundation’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program have had to use creative strategies to stay connected with the youth in their care, their commitment to finding permanent families for children in foster care is more important than ever.

“Childhood is fleeting,” Rita shares. “The more we delay placements, adoptions and movement, the more we delay a successful childhood for youth waiting in foster care.”

No child should face the COVID-19 crisis or any other without the love and support of a permanent family. Give now to help find adoptive homes for children waiting in foster care.
