WHO: WENDY’S 3-TOUR CHALLENGE

Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge, benefiting The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, is the only professional golf tournament that pits three players from the PGA TOUR, LPGA and Champions Tour against each other in a head-to-head competition for tour bragging rights and a share of the $1 million purse.

WHAT: PGA TOUR TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT
BRANDT SNEDEKER ▪ BOO WEEKLEY ▪ GARY WOODLAND

Brandt Snedeker is enjoying a career season in 2011 and is emerging as one of the TOUR’s top players. With seven top-10 finishes, including a victory at The Heritage, Snedeker closed the 2011 FedExCup playoff points race in eighth place and is currently ranked No. 14 on the PGA TOUR money list with more than $3.5 million, all career highs. He has finished in the top-25 in 14 out of the 16 cuts made so far this season, including two third and two fourth place finishes. A graduate of the Nationwide Tour, Snedeker has recorded a minimum of five top-10 finishes each of his past five seasons on the PGA TOUR and will be making his Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge debut this November at Rio Secco Golf Club.

Boo Weekley was a member of the winning 2010 Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge PGA TOUR team with Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson. Weekley has two career PGA TOUR victories to his credit and was one of six rookies and an emotional leader on the winning 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup Team played at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned 2.5 points in three matches for the U.S., including a 4-and-2 win over Oliver Wilson in Sunday Singles. Weekley is a fan favorite who garnered worldwide attention for riding his driver “cowboy horse” style down the first fairway during the Ryder Cup, leading eventually to an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

Gary Woodland is one of the brightest young stars on the PGA TOUR. The Topeka, Kansas native was an all state basketball star in high school. He also played basketball as a freshman for Washburn University in Topeka before transferring to the University of Kansas to play golf. Since returning from a left shoulder injury in 2009, which required surgery and cut his PGA TOUR rookie season short, Woodland is having a breakout season in 2011. On strength of six top-10 finishes, including his first career PGA TOUR victory at the Transitions Championship and a runner up finish at the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation, Woodland finished the regular FedExCup season ranked No. 10 and is currently ranked No. 18 on the PGA TOUR money list with a career high $3,353,416. This will be Woodland’s first Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge appearance.
