Michelle and Don, of Ohio, got married in 2011. Each had four older children from previous marriages. Then, the couple decided to adopt siblings, Lily and Lucy, from foster care. Don and Michelle soon discovered that Lily and Lucy had two more siblings, Jaime and Jeremiah, who had been living with other foster families. Jaime had just received a liver transplant from UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The family agreed to adopt them too, with the help of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program. On adoption day, Jaime and Jeremiah decided to legally change their names to Brooklyn and London.
In November 2018, the family was featured on Good Morning America. Watch the segment below and read their story.
