Supporter Spotlight: Jeff Thornton

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is grateful to be supported by so many generous donors, like Jeff Thornton.

How did you first learn about the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption?
I was very familiar with Dave Thomas and his great reputation, but I didn’t know a lot about the Foundation. Last November, I was sitting in the drive-thru of my favorite Wendy’s restaurant when I heard a radio advertisement for the Foundation and National Adoption Day. The ad caught my attention and I knew I had to take a closer look.

Why do you support foster care adoption and the mission of the Foundation?
I want my life to point to Jesus through my love for others. I’ve felt a tugging at my heart in regards to helping children who are living within the world of foster care. When I researched the Foundation, I knew instantly that this was the organization I wanted to support. By having a laser focus on “finding a loving family for every child waiting to be adopted from foster care,” especially in regards to those who are close to aging out of the system, the Foundation is helping them to realize their value and that they’re worthy of a family’s love.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about supporting the Foundation?
The Foundation is helping to place children in permanent homes where a family is ready to love and provide for them unconditionally. Children that may have always seen themselves as unwanted, inferior and alone can experience security and unconditional love when placed in a permanent home. We need EVERYONE who is ready, willing and able to love and help these children.
