Both adopted as infants, Krista and Vince Jacobs, of Tennessee, knew they wanted to grow their family through adoption.
“We began fostering children when our youngest child was two years old and continued to do so for four years,” says Mrs. Jacobs. “Our first (foster care) placement successfully reunified with her biological family and our second long-term placement became our son.”
Today, the family is committed to improving outcomes for children in foster care in various ways. In addition to donating annually to the Foundation, the Jacobs are currently mentoring a young adult who aged out of foster care.
“No child should have to navigate transitioning to adulthood alone,” says Mrs. Jacobs. “Without a forever family, children face tremendous obstacles that are difficult to overcome. They need to know that someone will always be there for them no matter what.”
