$13,564.98 raised to benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in support of Michigan adoption programs
JUNE 6, 2011 — Wendy’s restaurants in the Lansing area recently presented a check for over $13,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The donation was the result of Wendy’s Key Tag initiative, during which customers could donate $1 for a Frosty Key tag and receive a Free Jr. Frosty with every Wendy’s purchase through 12/31/11. The net proceeds from the key tag sales were donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, who will use the money in support of Michigan adoption programs.
“Every child deserves a family,” said Rita Soronen, executive director of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. “Our partnership with Wendy’s and the sale of Frosty key tags makes it easy for people to support our work. The funds raised will have a large impact on helping foster care children in Michigan find permanent, loving, adoptive homes.”
“Dave Thomas believed that giving back and supporting our community is everyone’s responsibility,” said Mark Behm, Wendy’s Lansing Co-op President. “Wendy’s is involved in thousands of local events each year that lend a hand to those in need. This key tag fundraiser was one way of giving back to the local community where we live and work.”
