FOSTER CARE ADOPTION
Children enter foster care through no fault of their own because of abuse or neglect. They deserve a safe, loving home.
As our founder, Dave Thomas, always said,
“These children are not someone else’s responsibility. They are our responsibility.”
You can help. Learn more and spread the word about the critical need for foster care adoption in the U.S.
Stories of Impact
A Forever Family for Conner
Placed in foster care when he was 7, Conner spent nearly half of his young life longing for a permanent place to call home.
“I moved a bunch. I really didn’t want to move that much. I didn’t think I could have a family,” he shared.
Fortunately, Conner was adopted at age 12 by James and Jayme through the Foundation’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® program and has the comfort and security he deserves.
Hope Through The Darkness
For children in foster care, the effects of the COVID-19 crisis and the tragic events of the past year have been profound. But through this time of darkness, there is reason to hope.
“By continuing to work together, by striving much harder for just and equitable systems and communities for our children, and by staying committed to our core belief that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, we will honor and achieve Dave Thomas’ vision of hope for those children still waiting to be adopted — and fulfill the dream of a family and a home,” writes Rita Soronen, President & CEO of the Foundation.Read More
