Which fact is the most concerning to you?
More than 113,000 children are waiting to be adopted from foster care in the United States.
Every year, nearly 20,000 children age out of foster care without the stability and security of a forever family. They are much more likely to experience negative outcomes, like homelessness and unemployment.
There is a lack of public awareness about adoption in the U.S. as well as the educational and financial resources available to encourage and support people in becoming adoptive parents.
It’s important for organizations to equitably support all the ways families are formed. But not all organizations offer benefits, such as paid leave, to employees who foster and adopt. In research commissioned by the Foundation, 68% of Americans said having paid leave would impact their decision to adopt.

I have personal experience with foster care and/or adoption and want to help others in their journey.
The Foundation is a national nonprofit public charity focused specifically on finding permanent, loving families for children in foster care who are too often overlooked, including teens, children with special needs and siblings.
The Foundation provides free educational resources and advocates for adoption and foster care benefits in the workplace to support parents opening their home to a waiting child.
