Cardinal Health Helps Families Become Whole Through Adoption

Posted on April 26, 2023

In 2017, Mathew, an employee of Cardinal Health, and his wife Jessica became foster parents to a baby boy named Blake. From the moment the couple laid eyes on him, they knew he was meant to be part of their family. At 18 months old, Blake entered the couple’s lives, and they have been by his side ever since.

Through his employer’s benefits, not only were the adoption fees covered, but Mathew was also able to use paternity leave to bond with Blake and officially welcome him to the family.

“At Cardinal Health, we are committed to supporting our working parents,” said Ola Snow, Chief Human Resources Officer. “We recognize that finances can be challenging for those going through the adoption process, so we’ve developed programs to help.”

Mathew and Jessica officially adopted Blake in 2021. Today, the family of three is thriving.

“Through the adoption benefits offered by Cardinal Health, my family has become whole. We would not have been able to adopt him (Blake) without the support that is offered by my employer,” said Matthew.

Mathew’s story reflects the life-changing difference that providing adoption benefits can make.  Thank you, Cardinal Health!
