Alex Steinhilber Joins Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Board of Trustees
Columbus, Ohio — The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a national, nonprofit public charity, welcomes Alex Steinhilber as a member of its board of trustees.
Steinhilber is the Director of National Sales Great Lakes/Northeast for Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. Foodservice Solutions Team where he’s worked for more than two decades. In his role, he has been an advocate of the Foundation’s mission through various corporate fundraising campaigns and events.
“In my positions at KDP, I’ve had the honor to work closely with the Foundation’s team at events raising awareness and funds, and the team is simply top notch,” said Steinhilber. “From work in the field to find forever families for children waiting in foster care, to events that engage attendees in the mission and bring more people into the fold, the impact is so far reaching. I’m excited to be on the board and learn more about the Foundation’s operations and how I can continue to move this critical work forward.”
“Alex has been a champion for the Foundation’s mission since day one,” said Foundation President & CEO Rita Soronen. “From always being a cheerleader of our work, to being a part of events like The Dave golf outing, which raises critical funds, to other partnerships with Keurig Dr Pepper and Wendy’s®, Alex always has the work of the Foundation at the front of his mind.”
Through its signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption provides funding to adoption agencies to support the hiring of adoption professionals, known as recruiters, who implement an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. A rigorous, five-year evaluation revealed that the model is up to three times more effective at serving children who have been in foster care the longest, including teenagers, children with special needs and siblings. More than 525 recruiters are urgently working across the U.S. and Canada. And with help from the Foundation’s supporters, more than 15,500 children have been adopted through the program to date.
Steinhilber, a 28-year veteran of the soft drink industry, studied aviation at Northwestern Michigan University and Meteorology while a serving in the U.S. Navy from 1990 to 1997. Alex, a father of 4, lives in Cincinnati, OH, with his wife of 34 years, Angela, and their two youngest children.
