Adoption Benefits from NFI are More than Policy — They’re Personal
As an adoptee himself, Andy understands the transformative power of adoption and the ways that it can bring love, healing and hope full circle. He knew that he wanted to provide that kind of support and stability for children in need of a family, which ultimately led to the adoption of his son AJ.
AJ’s adoption process was originally expected to last six months but turned into 16 months, and Andy encountered many expected and unexpected costs along the way. Thankfully, adoption benefits provided by Andy’s employer, NFI, helped to offset some of those challenges.
As Andy began to see the impact of foster care and adoption for AJ and for himself, he knew he wanted to open his home to other children who needed a family. Over the years, he became a foster parent for 19 additional children and adopted two more children.
“Healing takes intention, trauma-informed care and constant grace,” Andy shared. He added that to him, adoption meant stepping into each child’s trauma and staying by their side through the hard work of healing.
Today, AJ is in his junior year of high school. Andy is grateful to be by AJ’s side through life’s journey and for NFI’s support that helped make their family possible. Andy shared that for him, adoption benefits are more than policy — they’re personal.

Congratulations, NFI, for being recognized as an Adoption Advocate and for helping to make stories like Andy’s possible.
