Krista Pohlman Joins Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Board of Trustees
Columbus, Ohio — The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a national, nonprofit public charity, welcomes Krista Pohlman as a member of its board of trustees.
Pohlman is the President and CEO of the Quality Supply Chain Co-op, Inc. (QSCC), which is an independent, not-for-profit cooperative that is the second largest in the quick service restaurant industry with nearly $4 billion in buying power. QSCC is a part of Wendy’s® extended family and is dedicated to supporting its members and the Wendy’s system. Pohlman has been with QSCC for 16 years, starting in 2010 as a program manager. Prior to being at QSCC, she worked at The Wendy’s Company as a distribution manager.
“It’s truly humbling to join the board of an organization founded by Dave Thomas, the man who revolutionized the quick service industry and then took that passion for change into the nonprofit space to help children in foster care,” said Pohlman. “I’m honored to contribute my skills to such a meaningful cause, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help carry this important work and mission forward.”
“No one knows how to bring consistency and efficiency to process like Krista,” said Foundation President & CEO Rita Soronen. “She is running a massive operation within QSCC to bring every single product into the Wendy’s supply chain. This type of experience will give us new insights to expand the reach of our programs.”
Through its signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption provides funding to adoption agencies to support the hiring of adoption professionals, known as recruiters, who implement an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. A rigorous, five-year evaluation revealed that the model is up to three times more effective at serving children who have been in foster care the longest, including teenagers, children with special needs and siblings. More than 525 recruiters are urgently working across the U.S. and Canada. And with help from the Foundation’s supporters, more than 15,500 children have been adopted through the program to date.
“There are simply too many children waiting for a safe, loving and permanent family,” said Pohlman. “The Foundation is making a life-changing impact. I can’t wait to help be a part of the solution.”
Pohlman has a Bachelor of Science in marketing from The Ohio State University. She resides in Columbus, Ohio.
