Foundation committed to finding permanent homes for the more than 140,000 children waiting in North America’s foster care systems
Columbus, Ohio — The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a national non-profit public charity, today welcomed Rich Krumholz as a member of its board of trustees, serving a three-year term. Krumholz is Managing Partner at Delight Restaurant Group, a Wendy’s Franchise organization.
“There is simply nothing more important than family,” said Krumholz. “This position on the board of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a true honor because the work being done to find families for children waiting in foster care is critical to solving so many other societal challenges. It all starts with each of us having a loving and stable support system.”
Krumholz has been a part of the Wendy’s system for more than six years and prior to that worked at The Baupost Group and Goldman Sachs.
“It’s a great time for someone with Rich’s deep knowledge of economics and business to join the board as we continue to navigate through challenging economic times and look at ways to increase our revenue to further the Foundation’s mission,” said Rita Soronen, President & CEO of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. “I look forward to working with Rich and learning from his unique perspective.”
Through its signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption provides funding to adoption agencies to support the hiring of recruiters who implement an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. A rigorous, five-year evaluation revealed that the model is up to three times more effective at serving children who have been in foster care the longest, including teenagers, children with special needs and siblings. To date, more than 500 Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiters have found forever families for nearly 13,000 children in foster care across North America.
Krumholz earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with High Honors from Harvard College. He lives in New York City.
