The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption-Canada’s mission is to dramatically increase the number of adoptions from North America’s foster care systems. We challenge the systemic notion that some children are unadoptable. Every child deserves to live in a safe, loving and permanent home. Through our signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, the Foundation provides grants to adoption agencies to hire adoption recruiters who use an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model. This model has been proven to be up to 3x more effective at finding forever families for children in foster care who are most often overlooked, including teenagers, children with special needs and siblings.
